Our Woodsy Engagement Photos at Black Moshannon State Park

Levi and I started dating 8 years ago in 2016 (click for baby Levi and Gina pictures), and there’s so much I could say about what got us to this point. We’ve spent much of the last 8 years together exploring the trails and waterways of our home (and even the home we made in Arizona for a year). After Levi proposed to me on a trip to Acadia National Park in Maine earlier this year, we immediately started brainstorming the wedding details as a way to pass the time driving from one road trip location to the next in our camper van.

The one detail that we agreed on almost immediately was that we should get our engagement photos done on one of our favorite local trails, and we soon settled on an area we love near Black Moshannon State Park. We’d spent countless hours exploring the lake and hiking the trails over the course of our relationship, so it seemed like the perfect place to take our photos.

When the day of the session came, we set off in our van with my brother-in-law Cecil (who also happens to be a distinguished painter) to cruise the dirt roads until we found a spot where the sun shone through the leaves into a small meadow. We had a plan–Levi would frame the photos and pose us and Cecil would shoot once we were in position. We had only planned to be out for a short while, but were having so much fun trying new poses and angles that we ended up shooting until the sun went down. If these photos are any reflection of what our future marriage will be like, we have a lot of beauty and fun to look forward to!
